New Power Point Presentation AvailableThere is a new Power Point Slide Show available to introduce people to the Flotilla. This was developed as part of the Distance Education Class that was recently attended by Ron Dell. |
New Boat Registration Law – Claudia AllbrightThe Governor signed SB 1286 containing the new boat registration law. The full text is available online and describes the fees on page 2. Exemptions are listed at the bottom of page 1 and top of page 2 and further exemptions are shown on page 3 (Item 14) including most of what we were asking for. According to our local DMV office "Anyone can renew their registration on a vessel, automobile or trailer three months prior to the registration renewal date; for example, if your registration expires in September, you can renew it in June. You now also have the choice of renewing for one or two (years), the difference in price being two years is double the price. All vessels expiring in June, July, August or September need to renew before July 1st to keep from being subject to the new renewal rates that begin July 1." In other words, if your renewal date is in June, July, August or September, you need to get into your DMV before July 1st. More info at: http://www.dmv.org/fl-florida/boat-registration.php |
