This month I want to very briefly address the Boat Crew Program. The boat Crew Program consists of training for Crewmember, Coxswain, and PWC Operator. As an Auxiliarist, to “crew” on a patrol vessel, you must be qualified as a crewmember or to operate a patrol vessel you must be qualified as a coxswain. The Boat Crew Program will prepare you for this. Currently I have received indications from three members that they are interested in training for Boat Crew Crewmember. Consequently a boat crew program is about to start. If there are other members wishing this training, please let me know by the Flotilla meeting in July so I can include you in the training. As a Boat Crew crewmember, you will be
required to successfully complete the following Crew Member qualification tasks: Crew efficiency factors and team coordination; First aid and survival; Marlinespike seamanship and boat nomenclature; Boat handling; Communications; Navigation; Mission oriented operations; and various
auxiliary specific tasks. If you like being on the water and providing assistance to the boating public as well as the Coast Guard, this is a program for you……Dave  Chute FSO-MT 11-6
